Subaru rounded out their famous "Season of Giving - Share the Love Event" campaign with more than $5 million in donations to five charities, including Alzheimer's Association, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels Association of America, and USO.
"We are honored to be able to support both our owners' passions and the work of these amazing organizations," said Subaru Chief Marketing Officer Dean Evans. "'Share the Love' is a very special event, and Subaru is proud to have donated $25 million over the last five years."
For every purchase of a new vehicle, Subaru donated $250 to the charity of the owner's choice.
One of the longest participating charities in the event, the ASPCA, has received over $5.6 million in donations, with almost $1.4 million this year. These efforts will be used as nationwide grants aiding local shelters, animal relocation and disaster relief programs.
The Alzheimer's Association received over $1 million from the event. The association supports and funds research, programs and community resources - including a free 24/7 helpline making care consultations available 24/7.
Subaru has also donated over $1.2 million to Make-A-Wish foundation over the last two years, and this year, donated $885,766 to Meals On Wheels Association of America, who has been a part of all five "Share the Love" events. Finally, Subaru donated $670,387 to the USO, who provides support and morale boosting programs and services to deployed troops, military families, wounded, ill and injured troops.
"Share the Love" event started five years ago. In that time, Subaru and Subaru owners have donated to countless organizations including the following: The Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Habitat for Humanity®, National Wildlife Federation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Ocean Conservancy®, American Forests, and Special Olympics.
