Last night while
organizing his desk, our salesman Tim Mullin (who has been with Subaru for 18
years this year) found a picture of his 1998 Subaru Legacy. This Legacy was a
right hand drive car that his wife used for delivering mail on Martha's
Vineyard.
While his wife was delivering mail one day (in
2003), she was involved in an accident with a Ford F250 truck. The police
estimated that truck was traveling in excess of 100
MPH.
Leigh, who was former EMT immediately got out of
her car and ran to the aid of the truck driver. When the ambulance and police
showed up, there was a loss for words at the condition of the vehicles and they
could not find the driver of the Subaru. Once explaining to the rescue crew
that she was the driver of the Legacy and her only injury was a small cut on
her thumb, everyone was relieved that she was OK.
The biggest shock was how she walked away from this
accident.
As Atlantic Subaru has been open for over 10 years
now, we have had a few people come in for 'replacement' vehicles due to
accidents. Though it is sad and unfortunate, we are always happy to see that
our customers are OK, even if the car didn't make it.
We are thankful every day for Subaru's commitment
to safety.
