Subaru's Title Sponsorship of Mt. Washington's Hillclimb Auto Race and Record-setting Sales Numbers in North America.

Subaru of America is doing their part in reviving the "Climb to the Clouds" at New Hampshire's Mt. Washington. At an event that hosts some of the best Rally cars and competes favorably with the more popular Pike's Peak Race in Colorado, the Climb to the Clouds will be making a return in 2014 thanks to generous, title sponsorship from Subaru of America.

One of the best displays of the reliability and ability of a Subaru vehicle, next to customer experience, is in rally car racing, which showcases the best AWD vehicles in the harshest conditions. Potential customers can see their favorite brands in action, navigating tight turns and dirt with professional drivers at the helm. Mt. Washington's Hillclimb Auto Race is one of the oldest in the country, beginning in 1904 and running almost continuously since. David Higgins, driving a Subaru WRX STI, set the latest world record on the 7.6 mile course with a time of 6:11.54. With future title sponsorship, the Subaru Mt. Washington Hill Climb "Climb to the Clouds," will be run in 2014 to challenge some of the best drivers in the world.

The title sponsorship of a race like Mt. Washington shouldn't be surprising, as Subaru continues their march forward in North America, since Subaru is seeing some record-setting numbers in North America. Subaru of America is recording sales that jumped 30% over last year during the same period, contributing to a fourfold advance in profits, according to Subaru parent company Fuji Heavy Industries, from about $184 million to $739 million. The biggest increases have been in the sunbelt states, which heavily favor Subaru AWD systems to face the seasonally variable conditions. It is likely these numbers will continue to grow, as consumers continue to favor the Subaru AWD systems and the reliable boxer engine.
