This week, all of us at Atlantic Subaru got an exclusive chance to check out the pre-production model of the new 2014 Subaru Forester. This beautiful new car is more refined inside and out with tons of new upgrades. These upgrades include new luxury features you'd find in a Merdedes or BMW; such as a power rear lift gate for easy access when your arms are full and remote keyless entry.
The 2014 Subaru Forester adds a number of new features over its predecessor, including new interior and exterior styling and a 3-inch increase in rear legroom and a larger cargo area. It also includes a 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine that sports 170 horse power with an option to upgrade to a 2.0 liter turbo engine topping out at 250 hp. The new Forester also has increased fuel efficiency of 27 mpg combined, 32 mpg highway. One of the biggest upgrades on the new Forester is that it now has a CVT transmission, which provides a smoother and more fuel efficient ride, which many customers have been asking for.
When we got the chance to take it out on the road, were able to see first-hand the 2014 Forester's most exciting feature: the Subaru EyeSight safety system, which is an advanced set of cameras and sensors for accident prevention. The pro-active system sounds pre-collision alerts if it detects a possible impending crash. More exciting is that the system will also reduce the cars' throttle and automatically begin to brake. In fact, the insurance industry has said that these systems are proven to greatly reduce accidents, and the injuries that follow. Additionally, the EyeSight system will sound an alert when a driver begins to swerve out of a lane. This added safety feature helps to prevent accidents related to tired or distracted driving. It is a potentially lifesaving feature that makes the 2014 Subaru Forester the best in its class.
